Hiking is an activity that its nice to do with friends and help get in those extra steps whilst looking at beautiful views. There are many different trails but I do recommend you go all out and do the 10km hiking trail. The trail was called Krokodilberg Route. The average amplitude gain was 400M
You pay a small fee of R70 per person.
If you are beginner like me, don’t worry you will be okay. Ive only ever partake in 5km things and although challenging I did survive this. There are many look outs and different spots along the Hennops hiking trail that you can sit and enjoy a snack or two.

The journey from Johannesburg to the hiking trail is 30km. I would advise you get up early (7AM), enough so that when you get to Hennops its not too hot and you can enjoy the hike.
Many of us hit our head on tree branches so a top tip would be to distribute your gaze up and down in order not to hit your head, and to watch where you are going.
There were signs with footprints in trees and on rocks, just to make sure we dont go wondering off somewhere. Some beautiful flowers were spotted and ah yes they just get me excited.
After an intense +- 3 hours hike, we ended it off with a cable car over a lake and I think that was the best part of it all. Don’t get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed the hike but the sounds of water, gliding over it and just watching nature and friends around you kinda puts a smile on your face.
Hikes are definitely a good way of seeing your friends and nature at the same time. Make sure to grab a buddy and enjoy the Hennops Hiking Trail and get your sweat on.
